The ORYOKU MARU was bombed and beached in Subic Bay. The survivors continued aboard the BRAZIL MARU to Moji, Japan, arriving Jan 30, 1945 numbering approx 450.
Of the 1619 prisoners from Bilibid prison who boarded the ship in Manila on December 13, 1944 only approx 300 survived to be liberated by American forces August 1945.
