She was the daughter of Martha Pennington and Wm. W. Winkler. In early womanhood she was married to Jas. W. Thompson, who preceded her homegoing many years ago. She left behind one daughter, Mrs. Lucille T. Cleaton of Richmond, Va., one son Edw. Archie Thompson of LaCrosse, Va., and four grandchildren. After three years of invalidism, Mrs. Ella Thompson died November10, 1949. Born October 22, 1895, she died at the age of 91 years. She was the daughter of Martha Pennington and Wm. W. Winkler. In early womanhood she was married to Jas. W. Thompson, who preceded her homegoing many years ago. She left behind one daughter, Mrs. Lucille T. Cleaton of Richmond, Va., one son Edw. Archie Thompson of LaCrosse, Va., and four grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson gave her heart and her life to the service of her Lord in childhood. She joined Canaan Methodist Church, in which she was very active. She taught the Adult Bible Class for many years and gave up the class as teacher only five years before her passing because of physical weakness. The virtues of the Christian character found distinct expression in her every-day life. She was industrious, patient and gentle. In her relation to others, thoughtful, unselfish and generous, ever a kind neighbor and faithful friend.
